Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the Institut Elie Cartan de Lorraine (IECL) in Nancy, France.The successful candidateis expected to join the analytic number theory group and work under the supervision of Professor Youness Lamzouri.
The Institut Elie Cartan de Lorraine has a long tradition in the field of analyticnumber theory, and the research group is one of the largest and most active in France.
This is a two-year positionwhich will not be extendedbeyond 24 months.
The expected startingdate is September 1st, 2024,but there will be some flexibility on the exact date, if necessary.
The position does not includeany teaching duties.Furthermore, an annualtravel allowance will be made available.
This position is funded by the Lorraine Université d'Excellence (LUE) program of the University of Lorraineand is related to the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) junior chair of Youness Lamzouri for the project "Character sums and exponential sums".
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degreein Mathematics, or expect to receive one prior to the start of the position.
The topic of their doctoralthesis should be in analytic and/or probabilistic number theory or closely related areas.
