YOUR TASKS

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled (post)doctoral researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of a groundbreaking electrochemical platform for the simultaneous, quantitative detection of multiple biomarkers. 
Your responsibilities: 

  • Select and optimize aptamers/antibodies for the targeted biomarkers.
  • Develop and refine sandwich assays for optimal biomarker recognition and quantification.
  • Help in the design and fabrication of an electrode array utilizing screen-printing technology.
  • Devise and optimize surface chemistry protocols for the stable immobilization of capture molecules (aptamers/antibodies) on the electrodes.
  • Conduct real-time and accelerated stability studies to ensure the functionality and longevity of the functionalized electrodes.
  • Optimize the multiplexed electrochemical detection of biomarkers on the developed platform.
  • Collaborate with the team to refine assay conditions and enhance detection sensitivity.
  • Validate the electrochemical platform using real serum and finger prick blood samples.
  • Utilize ELISA and other laboratory techniques to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the developed system.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a Master’s degree or a thesis-based doctorate in Biochemical Sciences.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 3 months.
  • Your contract will start on 01/02/2024 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
